Aamer
Hussein
Aamer Hussein was born in Karachi in 1995. He has lived in London
since 1970. He has a degree in History, Persian and Urdu from
the School of Oriental and African Studies (London University).
His first story, ‘The Colour of a Loved Person’s Eyes’,
was published in 1987. He is the author of two earlier collections,
Mirror to the Sun (1993) and This Other Salt (1999; published
as The Blue Direction by Penguin India). He has edited Hoops of
Fire, a collection of Pakistani women’s writing. He divides
his time between writing and teaching at various universities.
He has contributed to the OUP anthologies, Dragonfly in the Sun
and Leaving Home, and the title story to Fires In an Autumn Garden.
