Ishtiaq Ahmad

Ishtiaq Ahmad is a former Pakistani journalist who edited The Muslim and reported for The Nation in Islamabad. Now he teaches at Eastern Mediterranean University, North Cyprus. Ahmad is one of the first, and few, foreign correspondents who introduced to the world the mystical Mullah Omar of the Taliban during their infancy. His other publications, focusing mostly on security issues in South Asia, include India and Pakistan: Charting a Path to Peace (2004), Pakistan in a Changing World (1997) and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Issues in South Asia (1996).
