Salome Zajadacz-Hastenrath

Born in 1932 at Budapest, Hungary, Salome Zajadacz-Hastenrath received her doctorate with honours from the University of Cologne for her dissertation. During her stay in Karachi from 1970 to 1976 she studied Islamic Architecture in Sind and focused on the Chaukhandi tombs. The author's research on Islamic architecture continued after she returned to Germany where she published Chaukhandigraber: Studien zur Grabkunst in Sind und Baluchistan in 1978. She died in May 1998.
