S.M. Burke
Professor. S.M. Burke was successively a judge in the Indian Civil
Service, Minister, Ambassador, High Commissioner for Pakistan
in eleven different countries and professor and Consultant in
South Asian Studies at the University of Minnesota, USA. He has
written standard books on Pakistani and Indian foreign policies
and Akbar, the Greatest Mogul. His books on the British Raj in
India and on the Emperor Bahadur Shah written jointly with Salim
AL-Din Quraishi have been recognized as the best books on those
subjects.
